You light an absence candle also known as a memory or memorial candle in loving memory of those who are no longer with you, or at home on the anniversary of their passing in rememberance  

These large candles are simply personalised with a favourite verse or saying and small graphic, which could be entwined hearts, gold/silver rings or flowers, the choice is yours, also there is room for a favourite verse or poem.  Examples of verses that could be used:
